My absolute favorite part of my makeup routine is putting on lipstick! Without it, I feel like the bottom half of my face doesn't even exist! My favorite type of lip I like doing is a bright, bold lip, but I have been trying to unearth my inner nude lover. So far, I'm unsuccessful. If you guys have any suggestions on great nude lip shades let me know, please!
1) Colour Pop
They are number one (even though I really don't have "favorites") because they are MATTE and stay through WW3! Literally, I can apply one time at the beginning of the day and have to only apply one more time and be fine. Not only that, but the color selections are gorge! This is the Colour Pop shade "Trap". This is probably my favorite shade. My second favorite is definitely Grunge.. It is a mauvey, purple color. The formula is a little different, it is a lippie stick so it's more cream based, even though technically it is still labeled matte. Have I mentioned the price?! $6 for the Ultra Matte and Satin Lips, and $5 for the lippie sticks. It is such a good deal! I will say, without hydration, like chapstick or a gloss, the mattes can be very drying on the lips. As long as you do that though, there should be no problems.
2) Gerard Cosmetics
I love, love, love ALL Gerard Cosmetics' products. The lipsticks make me so happy because they are SO pigmented.. no matter what formula you buy. I'll be honest, the cost of these are on the pricier side. It is about $19 for a lipstick (I recommend 1995), $10 for a lipgloss, $20 for the hydra mattes, and $16 for the supreme lip cremes. My favorite formula is the traditional lipsticks, but the hydra mattes are longer lasting. I like the lipsticks because they are creamy, hydrating, and overall great quality, so if you commit to only one formula, get the lipsticks.
3) Kat Von D
I probably should not add the brand, considering I have only tried the liquid lipsticks. BUT! I love how long lasting they are. These too, are more expensive. They are $20 at Sephora. The formula, in my opinion, is worth it. I have to literally scrub it at night to get it off. That's a great quality if you're into that kind of thing.. which I am lol. My favorite shade is the first Lolita. This one I HAVE to line my lips or else I feel like it gets a little lost in my skin tone, other than that, I have zero complaints.
4) Nyx
Any makeup lover knows the wonders of nyx! Now, I have not had the pleasure of trying the new nyx lingerie line, BUT I have tried all their other lip products and I do love them. If you can't already tell, I am a big fan of matte lipsticks. But I actually prefer their lipglosses because I think their matte lipsticks are TOO drying and I feel like it is hard to get them to stay on my inner lip and end up looking like a chola (lip liner, no lipstick lol) in a few hours. The prices are reasonable, they vary from $5- around $12. My favorite versatile shade is Tiramisu. It is a pinky, nude that is pretty on top of almost any shade.
5) MAC Cosmetics
How can I leave out Mac!? Literally, any formula, any shade- I guarantee it's BOMB! My favorite shade is Stone (matte- you guessed it lol). These lipsticks are $17 and worth every penny. I don't even know what else to write, to be honest. There are just a phenomenal company and I think they are a great quality.
