Hey guys! For my humanities class I had to attend an art exhibit, and then do a report on a piece of art that I found interesting. Well, I decided to go to the Huntington Library! Not only do they have wonderful art galleries from both European and American artists, they also have these beautiful, cultural gardens! I couldn't help but fall in love with all the beautiful scenery, so I thought I would share a few snaps of my trip(: I highly recommend going to visit!
Don't mind how silly Pete looks, he was teasing me because of how many pictures I wanted to take of him (; lol

Egg White, Spinach, Kale, and Feta omelette
I love this breakfast and have it probably three times a week! The best part is that it's so easy to make!
Ingredients
2/3 cup egg white
1/4 cup feta cheese
1/2 cup spinach
1/4 cup kale
a dash of salt and pepper
Directions
In a small bowl, combine egg whites, spinach, kale, feta, and salt and pepper and blend with a fork. Heat a 10 inch (or whatever size you want your omelette.. smaller the pan, thicker the omelette) over medium heat. Grease pan using non stick spray or coconut oil. I use coconut oil but it really doesn't matter. Pour the egg mixture into the pan and wait for it to solidify. This usually will take a few minutes. After the mixture has turned solid, start to move a spatula around the edges and get ready to flip your omelette like a pancake* When both sides of your omelette are cooked, just slide it onto a plate and fold your omelette in half. It's that simple! I usually like to add a little bit more cheese just to garnish, and fresh salsa to give it more flavor. (I didn't have salsa on hand, so the picture shows chili lime Cholula hot sauce.
* Instead of flipping your omelette, most people just move the pan so the excess liquid pours off and continue making it like that. I, personally, don't like doing that, but it is up to you.
Side note, whenever I make an omelette I like to also have fresh fruit as well. In the picture I have sliced apples with melted peanut butter, chocolate chips, and chia seeds! YUM!!
Mini River Vacay
I grew up going EVERY summer to the river. We have a house out in Fort Mojave, Az so as soon as school got out, I was on my way out there. I used to hate it because I would miss my friends, but now that school and work have consumed my life, I miss going all the time! (Funny how that works, huh?) It was so nice to finally get a break and just get away.. Even if I did lose all my money on black jack and pina coladas in Laughlin! lol

5 Drug Store Beauty Must Haves
Hey guys!
Let's be honest, makeup can get expensive. Don't worry though, there are some really great drug- store products out there that are just as good, if not better than name brand products. Plus, who doesn't love saving a little extra money? Here are 5 of my favorite drug- store beauty products(:
1) Neutrogena Alcohol- Free Toner
Everyone needs a good toner! You can read all about the benefits here. For me, I feel like this toner helps me with really getting my face clean at the end of the day. I always feel like my face is fine after just washing it, but as soon as I use the toner I see all the left over makeup (yuck).
Neutrogena as a brand is amazing because it is so gentle that it works on generally every skin type. Plus, this exact toner smells so fresh and clean!
2) Clean&Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser
This is my every day face wash. I just dab some onto a facial loofah and scrub away! This is the kind that "tingles" so I feel really clean afterwards lol. I have very dry skin so I need the cream cleansers. I've tried other types like gel cleansers, but they tend to dry me out. Now, If you have oily skin, I HIGHLY recommend using a gel cleanser and NOT a cream cleanser. Cream cleansers are cream (duh) or oil based, so they can help with hydrating dry skin, however can clog pores for those with oily or acne prone skin. If you need help deciphering between the right type of cleansers, this article may help you pick the right choice for your skin type. **Side note** It is important to not only wash your face at night, but also when you wake up! That's 8 hours of you sweating, collecting germs from your pillow, etc.
3) Fruit of the Earth Cocoa Butter Skin Care Cream
As I said before, I have very dry skin. I have struggled with eczema since I was a toddler, so if I'm not constantly moisturizing, I get little patches everywhere- including my face. This moisturizer is thick enough that it stays on all night, but easily washes away in the morning. I have noticed less breakouts of dry skin since using it, however whenever I do feel extra dry, I pair it with Maracuja oil at night. Cocoa butter also has natural healing properties that are amazing for rejuvenating skin after a stressful day. That, along with the other key ingredients vitamin E and aloe vera, can also calm irritated skin. I have tried many moisturizers, even expensive, name brand ones, but this one has helped my skin the most.
4) ELF Poreless Face Primer
I tried this primer just as a backup for the days I didn't want to use my "good, expensive" makeup, but it has quickly taken over as my daily primer. The smell is a little off putting because the key ingredient is Tea Tree Oil, which smells horrid, but TTO is actually SUPER beneficial for your skin (soothes dry skin, heals acne, etc.) so I don't really mind... I mean, who goes around smelling other people's faces anyways? (; This primer is a little on the thick side so a little goes a long way. The most I use is 1 1/2 pumps and even that can be too much sometimes. When I use this primer, my make up stays in place for longer, and I usually will only have to touch up once or twice. Plus, ELF products are famous for being so affordable and accessible.
5) Loreal Infallible Matte Liquid Foundation
Hands down, best foundation I have ever used. I highly, highly, highly recommend this product! I like using matte foundations despite my dry skin for the sole fact that I use SO much moisturizer that my makeup will move around and disappear if I try to use anything else. And let me tell you, this foundation keeps me MATTE. The Infallible line also has a pretty wide range of shades as well, so any skin color will be able to find the right one. This foundation outlasts any other foundation I have ever used- including Mac and Kat Von D. I recommend putting it on with a beauty blender or sponge so that it blends more sheer, not cakey and thick.

Ultra Glam Makeup Details
Eyes: The transition color (the very top) is Mac's Wedge. All over the lid is Makeup Geek's Prism which I set with Urban Decay's Glitter Glue. On the corner of my eyes by the tear duct, I wanted extra sparkle, so I brushed on MUG's Bling as well. Along the top curve of my eye I gently used MUG's Barcelona Beach to give the look some dimension. The outer V of the eye is MUG's Mocha, but if you want a more dramatic look, you can add an extra layer of any black shadow which I did on my lower lash line as well.
Mascara: I used Maybelline's Falsies Volume Express on my top lashes and Lash Sensational on the lower lashes
Eyeliner: Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner in Jet
Face:
Primer: Elf's Poreless Face Primer. Foundation:Becca's Ever Matte Shine Proof Foundation in the color Nude.
Concealer: Under the eyes, bridge of the nose, and chin is Mac's Pro Longwear Concealer in the shade NC20. And then I set my whole face with IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores translucent pressed powder. And then on my chin, forehead, bridge of my nose, and under my eyes I went in with Mac's Studio Fix compact in the shade C3
Contour: Asthetica Cosmetics powder contour kit. They don't have names but I used the middle, darker shade on my cheek bones, sides of my forehead and along the sides of my nose. (*Side note.. This is basically the knock off version of Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit and I LOVE it.. works just as great!)
Eyebrows: (Don't judge I had a bad eyebrow day lol) Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in Soft Brown
Highlight: Gerard Cosmetic's Star Powder's in the color Audrey
Blush: Milani's Tantastic bronzer in the shade fantastic gold, I also used their blush in the color Luminoso
Setting Spray: Urban Decay's All Nighter
Lips:
Maybelline's matte lipstick in daringly nude with Nyx lingerie liquid lipstick in Babydoll
Aside from the numerous steps and makeup products, this is actually a pretty basic look to achieve. If I can do it, you can do it!
XOXO,
Lyss
